Jewelry
is an important investment and should be cared for properly.
Here are some helpful guidelines for preserving your investment.
-
Retaining
the luster of your silver is very important. You should
clean and polish periodically with a Silver Polishing Cloth.
It is non-toxic and combines no scratch particles and
chemical cleaners that give a lasting luster to your silver.
Use it whenever the silver starts to appear dull. It should
last a very long time.
-
Do
not use silver cleaning dips. They will remove the antiquing
from the silver which gives interest to your piece and it
will damage the gemstones. I recommend asking a jeweler's
recommendation for a cloth that will clean gemstones as
well. Also, see cleaning instructions included with your
order.
-
Avoid
using cleaners or harsh chemicals, as they may alter the
color of your stones.
-
Avoid
getting makeup, perfume, and hairspray on your jewelry.
-
Avoid
using ultrasonic cleaning machines, since vibrations may
damage brittle stones.
-
Never
store gemstone jewelry wrapped with diamonds. Diamonds may
scratch the softer gemstones.
-
Have
your gemstone jewelry professionally cleaned and serviced
annually. Your jeweler will check that clasps and prongs are
not worn or broken.
-
Use
a professional jeweler to repair your gemstone jewelry.
-
Store
your jewelry pieces separately in tissue or cloth in
separate compartments of a jewelry box.
-
Remove
your jewelry when doing housework, cleaning, or gardening
and before any beauty salon treatments. Chemicals can harm
or ruin your jewelry.
-
Have
safety chains or safety clasps installed on your more
expensive or sentimental jewelry pieces.
